Before your consultation

  • Note down your symptoms, when they started and what makes them better or worse.
  • Bring a list of medicines you take, including blood thinners and diabetes medicines.
  • Carry previous reports, scans and prescriptions.

Before surgery

  • Follow the fasting instructions you are given, usually no food for 6 hours before surgery.
  • Arrange for someone to take you home.

After surgery

  • Take medicines exactly as prescribed.
  • Call the clinic if you have fever, heavy bleeding, increasing pain or difficulty passing urine.
