What to expect from laser surgery

How to prepare
- Blood tests and a fitness check before surgery
- No food for about 6 hours before the procedure
- Tell the doctor about blood thinners or diabetes medicines
The procedure
The procedure is done under anaesthesia and usually takes 20 to 45 minutes. A thin laser fibre is guided to the affected area; there are no large cuts or stitches in most cases.
